Letter from the President

Alpha Xi Delta, a women’s fraternity, was founded back in 1893. For the past hundred and twenty-eight years, it has inspired women across the United States to realize their potential and become the best versions of themselves. Alpha Xi Delta’s 185,000+ sisters are different in their own way, yet they unite to support this one organization and promote its values on dozens of college campuses and beyond.

The Iota Psi chapter reflects the values of our national organization. Every member is unique in their way, yet when we come together, it feels more like a family. Our differences and various backgrounds make us that much stronger. We all ended up in the Iota Psi chapter because our values aligned with Alpha Xi Delta. Leadership, knowledge, service, and sisterhood are all values that each member of the Iota Psi chapter prides themselves on and are what bring us together.

I arrived at Franklin and Marshall College in late 2021 from Honolulu, Hawaii. I was homesick and had no one to relate my experience to. By the second semester of my first year, I decided to participate in the COB (Continuous Open Bidding Recruitment) process. I was intimidated by formal recruitment, which prompted me to go through the COB process. My opinion quickly changed once I found Alpha Xi Delta. The conversations I had, the people I met, and the values within the chapter led me to believe that I made the correct choice. I never imagined that I would be in the position I am now. If I could repeat this entire process, I would make the same decision as I did my freshman year. Now that I am the president and a senior, I reflect on my friends and invaluable relationships, the experiences and opportunities Alpha Xi Delta has given me, and all the memories I have made.  I have never felt more comfortable and safe being myself than with this chapter, and I hope that college women know that they can find a support system and group to call home as I have found mine in Alpha Xi Delta. 

These women have helped me to find my home away from home.
