Letter from the President
Alpha Xi Delta, a women’s fraternity, was founded back in 1893, and for the past hundred and twenty-eight years, it has inspired women all across the United States to realize their potential and become the best versions of themselves. Alpha Xi Delta’s 185,000+ sisters are all different and special in their own way, yet they unite to support this one organization and promote its values on dozens of college campuses and beyond.
The Iota Psi chapter is the perfect representation of the women’s fraternity on the national scale, as each one of our sisters is different, and each has something quite special about her. Oftentimes we are so different, it is unclear how we have all ended up in the same organization. But, what drew us all in were the four values: leadership, knowledge, service, and sisterhood. No matter the differences, and our various backgrounds, these key characteristics persist in each and every one of us, creating an unbreakable bond within the organization.
Prior to coming to Franklin and Marshall College, I had never even considered joining a sorority. The idea seemed absurd and foreign to me. Yet, my freshman year, in a spur-of-the-moment decision, I signed up for recruitment, and have never regretted that decision since. The past few years have been filled with joy, sorrow, and everything in between, and many of my sisters were there for me every step of the way. They became friends with my parents, they introduced me to new clubs and activities, they have cooked me dinners and lent their shoulders for me to cry on. Most importantly they have encouraged me to grow and change, and become who I am today, and for that, I can never thank them enough. My hope is that every college woman gets to experience being a part of a group as supportive and inspiring as the one that has been by my side these past three years.
With love and TFJ,
President of Alpha Xi Delta, Iota Psi Chapter
